I don't understand why the deus ex machina gets such a bad rap. I could totally go for some contrived, unconvincing, and gimmicky resolution right now.

I just voted for it. I used to tutor teenage boys in group homes a long, long time ago. Many of them had just exited the juvenille justice system. The need is so great. There's also a need for teens who exit the system when they are 18 and no longer have any government support or funding...
